Rescu’s mission is to give you control over emergencies whenever they happen.
Our state-of-the-art mobile medical alert system automatically relays your health information to dispatchers and lets you send for help without saying a word – eliminating the risk of delays or miscommunications and saving you precious time.
But in certain situations, you may need to provide more detailed information to your dispatcher…
And Rescu’s two-way chat option empowers you to do just that.
Follow along as we explore the wide range of applications this powerful feature has, and how it can ensure you get the best possible help you need in the event of an emergency.
Overview
Before we get started, it’s important to note how Rescu’s chat feature works.
When you call 911, you’re required to speak with a dispatcher before getting help. With Rescu, it’s the opposite.
Once you’ve sent an alert (with just two taps) and help is already on its way, you’ll then have the option to open up a chat with a Rescu operator and explain your situation.
In an emergency, there’s no time to waste.
With the Rescu chat feature, you’ll have the comfort and peace of mind of knowing that while you’re talking with your dispatcher, responders are already well on their way to you.
If you’re able to speak and would rather talk on the phone, you can simply tap the “Call to Add Info” button, and you’ll be connected directly to our 24/7 UL-Certified Call Center.
When You’re Not the Victim
Rescu’s two-way chat feature is ideal for situations where you’re not the one in crisis.
Although the app stores your personal health information, if you’re sending an alert for someone else, you can quickly inform a Rescu operator of the situation via text chat.
This feature is the perfect solution if you’re nearby when an elderly loved one injures themselves in a fall or your little one has a bad accident at home.
The GPS-equipped Rescu Prime subscription, launching this summer, allows you to bring this feature with you anywhere in the United States.
So, whether you’re off adventuring in the mountains with friends or having some fun in the sun at the beach, as long as you have a network connection, help is always two taps away.
With the Rescu medical alert system, you can quickly send for help and tell your dispatcher everything they need to know without skipping a beat.
When You’re Unable to Talk
Unfortunately, talking isn’t always easy (or possible) in an emergency.
If there’s an intruder in your home, speaking with an operator dramatically increases the chances of blowing your cover.
Calling 911 in these situations simply isn’t worth the risk. And depending on where you live, the text to 911 service may not be available.
The Best Mobile Medical Alert for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
If you’re deaf or hard of hearing, getting help fast without a mobile medical alert system like Rescu is a tall order.
911 dispatch centers do come equipped with Text Telephones (TTYs), but communicating with these devices can create significant and potentially life-threatening delays.
To provide a better solution, some areas of the country are rolling out a 911 video chat feature. This development is a huge step for dispatchers, who have to scour what little information they can get over the phone for clues about their callers’ emergencies.
But even more so than the text to 911 feature, this system is still very new. It could be several years before it becomes available nationwide. Plus, people in the deaf or hard of hearing community will still be limited using this medium.
What’s more, it still requires the caller to spend crucial minutes trying to explain what’s going on in what could very well be the most stressful situation of their life…
All before being able to dispatch help to their location.
If you’re unable to speak in an emergency, Rescu puts getting help at the top of the priority list. And the two-way chat option gives you the power to easily (and safely) keep your dispatcher up to speed.
