How to Use the Rescu Emergency Response App (It’s Free!)

SHARE

If you’re experiencing an emergency, you need help — and you need it fast. The process of dialing 9-1-1, waiting for the call to go through, and explaining your emergency/location while under stress can take up precious minutes that often times we don’t have.

Rescu aims to combat that very problem. The Rescu emergency response alert app can be used during an emergency to send for medical, fire, and police assistance with only two taps on your phone screen, requiring zero verbal communication.

The app is free to download and use for medical assistance (or upgrade to Rescu Prime that has fire and police help) and is simple to use. With two easy steps, you’ll have peace of mind knowing you have access to help if you need it.

Step 1: Set Up Your Emergency Contacts and Dispatch Address

After downloading the emergency response alert app, one of the first things that Rescu will prompt you to do is enter one address for your dispatch location (or, with Rescu Prime, up to four addresses). The dispatch address is where help will be sent to when you use Rescu during an emergency. Most people put their home address.

You’ll then be asked to enter the contact information of friends or family that you’d like to be notified in the event of an emergency. What’s nice about Rescu is that it will automatically send them a notification that you’ve called for emergency assistance, so they’re aware of what’s going on.

Keep This Information Updated

It’s important to review your emergency contacts and dispatch address periodically in case it needs to be updated or changed. For instance, if you designate your significant other as a contact and later separate, you likely don’t want to have them notified in an emergency! Likewise, if you move, you don’t want to send assistance to a previous address. You can easily update your information at any time within the Rescu emergency response alert app.

Step 2: Use Rescu During An Emergency

After setting up your dispatch address and emergency contacts, Rescu is ready to use when you need it. If an emergency occurs, simply take out your phone, open the Rescu app, choose Ambulance (or, with Rescu Prime, Fire or Police), and hit Send Alert.

After you send an alert, here’s what Rescu does for you:

  • A signal is sent to their UL-certified, 5 Diamond central station
  • The dispatch signal is immediately processed
  • Responders are sent to your dispatch address
  • Rescu alerts your emergency contacts via SMS
  • A confirmation screen will appear with information about responders heading your way
  • You’ll receive a call from the Rescu team for verification

Since you don’t have to call 9-1-1 and relay information to operators, and since Rescu’s central station is UL-certified, Rescu is the fastest way to get help during an emergency. You won’t have to wait long periods of time for the help you need.

You Can Practice with Rescu’s Test Mode

In an emergency, time is of the essence. The last thing you need to worry about is using new software. Fortunately, Rescu has a Test Mode that allows you to familiarize yourself with the app during a safe time so that you feel comfortable using it as a resource when you need it most.

While in test mode, all of Rescu’s features will be available, but no alerts or dispatches will be sent. The Rescu team also has several helpful videos to help walk you through the app, making the whole process truly a breeze.

Rescu Prime Gives You More Protection
